Pinky’s Selfish Trip to SF Continued (3 of 100+)
October 12, 2012

What a differance a day makes.

I walk up to the pool area at Project Hollywood. I see Speer sitting by himself. He looks stressed out and angry. I have been through quite a few Global Pickup Conferences with him and I had never seen him this stressed out over an event.
“You ok man?”
“He’s fucking insane.” He replied back to me as he sat in his chair and lit another cigarette. He had been chain smoking during the whole summit. It Had been stressful to say the least. The house wasn’t even put together. Speakers were upset and Pinky was no where in sight. Looking back on it, it was an omen of things to come. Just the day before I was so happy being asked to live at Project Hollywood. Amazing how much change can happen in a day.

The day started off with a team meeting. Since it was Pinky’s event we ended up in a 2 hour meeting at 8 am- 10am before the crowd started to show up. He was on his 5:55 kick. He literally woke up at 5:55am every day. He would do his morning ritual and then get started for the day. It was quite inspiring at the time. A man of his age willing to put him self through that.
We were all still tired and people started to show up. That’s one of the things I learned at Project Hollywood. No matter how tired you are if people show up put your game face on and greet with a smile. The room wasn’t full at the scheduled starting time so Pinky told me to just talk to the crowd and the speakers will start in a hour. Little did I know this would be a recurring theme for the year.
It was a relief that the speakers started so I could take a small break. I like to plan out
things expectantly for a big event like this. It just makes things run a lot smoother. It was my job to get the next speaker ready and make sure everyone was happy as they could be. Soon speakers started asking if they could move spots around with others. Ordinarily I would of told them no but this was a new event for me. I had to find Pinky and he always said yes no matter what it was.

It got to the point that I didn’t even know who was up next at one point. He told so many people yes to changing the times around. He seemed like he had it all in his head who was next so I would just go ask him about 20 minutes before the next speaker to see who he changed it to. About halfway through the first day I see him walking with a girl he had hired to be with him for his talk. They are heading to his room.
He made it very clear though out my short time there that when he has a girl nothing is to bother him. Only I needed to know what was going on with the speakers. A half hour later after they went upstairs I knocked on the door to his room and there was no answer. I called his phone and it went straight to voice mail. I saw his car was out front. I tried knocking and calling again but nothing.

Not knowing what to do I went to Speer and asked him. We deiced to just go with what the list said that we wrote up the night before. That’s when it all went down hill. I soon had people coming up asking when they were speaking I had never heard of before. All of them saying Pinky promised them a speaking slot that day. It became a real juggling act. Five hours later Pinky emerges from his room all smiles. Must be nice to push everything off on someone else and let them run the event after you change everything. People complained and speakers were mad due to shortened times of there talks.I guess Speer summed it all up right away after the first real event.

He’s Fucking INSANE!!!
